Heartbroken and lost. *possible trigger*

Early this morning, we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our beautiful girl. We are absolutely heartbroken, but trying our best to focus on all the good times we had with her.

Aela was the most loving, sweet, friendly dog I've ever known. She was mouthy and sassy. She was warm and snuggly. She had a huge personality, unlike any other. She always knew how to cheer us up when we were down, how to make us laugh when we were stressed, and how to take up an entire bed when we were tired.

I'm grateful for all of the kisses, the hugs, the snuggles, the warm welcomes home, and the many many games of tug-of-war.

Of course I'm devastated, but my husband is taking this very hard. How can I be supportive through something so painful?
