is 75,570 a good salary?

i’m a teen and want to be a nurse and in my state. 75,570 the average pay that nurses receive. is this a good amount of money? sorry I know nothing about finances 😳

I’m not a nurse or a nursing student but I’ll speak for everyone that you can’t go into a career with the only intent being money. 
Lots of my boyfriends friends started college as engineering majors and only he and one other guy are still in the program. For starters very few of them even passed their first year of undergrad engineering, and secondly they all wanted to be engineering since the average salary for most engineering is $90-115k a year. 
You have to like what you do, and especially with nursing you have to give your patients your whole 100% care, respect and attention while having others at the same time. You have to want to help others. 
You also have to realize that is probably not even close to the starting wage of nursing. And the countries average isn’t your state or cities average. It all spends on how educated you are as well, do you want to be an LPN? RN? BSN? MSN? APRN? NP?

If you’re going into nursing with money on your mind, find a different career. You don’t go into nursing for the paycheck. Many nurses who did that didn’t survive for more than 5 years and they were miserable. They couldn’t handle certain situations that they ran into.  
Go into a field that you’re passionate about, not what stuffs your wallet. 
I became a nurse because I have a passion for caring for sick, and injured people. I work in the ER. I make a ton of money but the money isn’t the reason I went into it. I wanted to help someone on one of the worst days of their lives. I save who I can, and I help families.

a “good” salary depends on who you’re supporting and where you live, but 75k is generally great! it may not be enough in a place like new york city or san francisco if you also have a large family to support and no additional income, but you’re almost always gonna be fine! i would try to break it down by hour (probably about $50 before taxes) and by monthly income ($6,250). if your rent/mortgage is less than 3k (and it shouldn’t even be 3k unless like i said you’re in new york, LA, SF, living alone) you’ve got a ton of disposable income!

People don’t go into nursing for the pay. They go into it because they care and want to help. You’ll never be happy with your career if you’re focused on pay.
