Idk if I should ask him or not...

So I have been talking to this guy, hes super fun in person but hard to text lol.

I asked him to a movie and he asked if we could go at night because he was super busy. I said no problem text me when you can. I just assumed he would text me that night lol. A day and a half later he texts me but it was just like a hey what's up and nothing about us hanging out, just about what we did yesterday.

Should I ask why he didn't text back about the movie? Or ask if he wants to try again tonight? He just moved here a week ago from Hawaii and so he doesn't have a car and has been working on job apps and apartment stuff. I know hes busy but should I let him know I'm off today or something?
