Baby with fever going to see a newborn?

My daughter is 1 y/o and she’s teething. She currently has a fever of 101.2. My cousin gave birth to a baby boy today, are we still ok to go visit or should I wait? She’s not sick, it’s just teething. Idk if fevers are contagious or not safe to be around newborn??

Absolutely not. Your child might actually have something that isn’t related to teething that you aren’t aware of. You never bring a child to meet a newborn with a fever, ever.

According to my pediatrician your baby shouldn’t have a fever like that when teething. It might be something else. He always says “teething only produces teeth” because so many people think fevers, runny nose, etc. is due to teething and it’s not. 
Anyways I would never take my sick kid to see a newborn. A fever indicates your baby’s body is fighting something.
