My May baby is here!

Kasandra

So I figured I share my story because reading all of your guys’ stories throughout my pregnancy really helped!

*long post - sorry in advance!

My daughter was due May 29 and we already had an induction date set for June 5 just in case. She’s my second and my first was born at 40+2. I was so scared for her to be overdue because at my 34 week ultrasound, she was already measuring about 6 pounds. I was trying EVERYTHING to get her to come on time, if not earlier. I did raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, nipple stimulation, lots of walking, ginger tea, spicy food, sex, etc. I was having frequent Braxton Hicks for like 2 weeks prior to having her that didn’t hurt. Then I had my membranes swept on May 17th at 38 + 5 (I was already 2 cm dilated, 50% effaced and she was at -1 station). After that, my contractions became more painful but tolerable and they lasted all the way until I had her on May 24th. That Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday my contractions were becoming more painful but were still irregular. They would come anywhere from 5-40 min apart. Thursday night, I was getting so tired of having irregular painful contractions and they had gotten down to around 7 min apart and I decided “well let’s just go to the hospital and if we get sent home, we get sent home.” I really thought we were going to get sent home because they weren’t close enough together. Turns out, I was 5 cm dilated already and was admitted to labor & delivery! About 2 hours later, my water broke on it’s own! We got to the hospital around 10 pm, my water broke around 12 and she was born at 5:52 AM. 🥰

8 lbs 19 1/4 in of perfection ❤️
