When to start pumping?

Hi All, when should I start pumping to create a supply for going back to work? Wanting to make sure I start early enough to have a supply built up, but not too soon to over produce. Baby Carson is only 2 weeks old currently, but I want to make sure I’m on top of it!

I pump 1-2 times daily and have been freezing that for when I go back to work. I’m only working 1 Day a week. I figured might as well start building up a supply of milk to have on hand though!

When pumping for stock/storage when do you pump? Immediately after feedings or do you wait an hour? My baby breastfeeds for about 30 min every 2-3 hours.

I think I started around 4 weeks, and I went back to work at 8 weeks. It’s tough because you still need to feed baby (and breast feeding is better for supply) so you have to time it right in between normal feedings. Once you get back to work and are pumping all day, you get a lot more!

I exclusively breastfeed and my lactation consultant told me I can start pumping around 2 weeks. I use a haaka a couple times while I feed and then pump with my electric pump 2-3 times a day. I am 3.5 weeks pp and have about 200 oz or just over stored

I pump only and give her a bottle . I freeze every other pump . I have about 35 bags frozen that are all 5 ounce bags and i have about 9 bottles at all times in the fridge to use within the next couple days. My daughter is 3 weeks old and i have already started my stash but i plan to continue to pump when i go back to work to continue to build my stash so i can stop around 4 months and she will have milk still to drink
