How much did it cost you to give birth?

I am in the us and have insurance my expenses for a vaginal delivery are nearing 6k. I just asked my mom how much she paid for me and my siblings in the 80s... $300 a piece.

I saw the hospital sent out over $16K bill to my health insurance and it was a vaginal delivery 😲. I haven’t gotten the final bill from the insurance yet. My out of pocket maximum is almost 7K. So I am convinced I will be paying that amount this year 😏 It’s ridiculous 😞 And oh yeah not to mention I will be receiving hospital bill for my daughter as well. Yup, that’s the US healthcare for you 🤮

My out of pocket max is $2000 which I met in February or March due to extra monitoring/medications because of previous preterm baby. This pregnancy I was then diagnosed with gestational diabetes & cholestasis. Due to all the extra monitoring/tests, the amount billed is close to $70k for everything billed so far this year including a vagina delivery but not all the bills have come in yet.

In Canada... so $0 to give birth. Paid $88 to have a private room, but my private insurance covered the cost.

My insurance covered it completely and my baby was added to my plan as soon as he was born and his name sent in! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I feel so grateful for Arizona insurance. That just sounds awful you have to pay that much to have a baby 😰

I paid £8.50 for parking that covers up to 7 days stay. I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and had a raised AFP so needed extra scans to check for Spina Bifida in Fetal Medicine unit...then on the opposite week I was having scans with the Diabetes clinic...had so many scans I lost count. Induction at 37 weeks and 6 days stay...£0.00 😬

I live in US, our bill after insurance it's over 8k. I had a c section and baby was in the nicu for 3 days.

My deductible is $3750 so I will be paying at least that. I had an emergency c section so the bill was bumped from about $7k to $30k. Since I had Medicaid as a supplement, they will be paying for whatever my insurance doesn’t, otherwise I would have been responsible for about $8k.

Jesus christ, thank God for the NHS 😳 as our baby was born on a Sunday we were able to park for free on the road outside the hospital so it cost us £0
