World record labor 🤷🏼♀️
I was due May 24th. After being 3 cm since 36 weeks my doctor swore I’d be in labor before my due date.. after 2 failed sweeps at 38 weeks and 39 weeks I found myself pass my due date and schedule an induction for May 28th (which I struggled heavily with the decision). Well little girl decided she had her own plan in mind!! After having sex for the thousandth time in hopes it would start labor, I had light bleeding but figured my cervix was just sensitive so we went to bed the night of the 27th knowing we had to be up to call L&D to make sure they had a bed for my induction at 6am. At 3:30am I woke up to some contractions that felt like cramps in my back that radiates into my lower uterus.. it wasn’t comfortable but it wasn’t extremely painful so I laid in bed until our alarm went off at 4:15am and figured I should start timing them. When I started timing, contractions were at or around 5 minutes apart but quickly progressed to intense contractions 2-3 minutes apart by 5am. By 5:30 I was barely making it out the door because the contractions were so painful. Got to the hospital (thankfully close to home) by 5:40 and put in a triage room. Was in EXTREME pain with each contraction at this point and immediately began throwing up. And when the nurse checked me she said I was 8cm!!!!!! I wanted an all natural birth this time around but dear god when it actually became that painful I would have begged for one.. unfortunately since I was already 8cm there there was no turning back and it was scary. Within 2 contractions I felt the urge to push and the nurse checked me again and said I was complete. She was panicking, my doctor wasn’t going to make it, and people came rushing in the room. Next thing I know I feel like I’m dying while I’m pushing my little girl out. It took 3-4 pushes and by 6:02am Emersyn Mae was born 6lbs 15oz and 18 inches long and as healthy as could be. All in all I was in labor for 2.5 hours from start to finish and barely made it to the hospital. I would not do this again but I’m grateful I got to experience the craziest labor and delivery for my second and last one.
