It really depends on what is important to you. I live in Nebraska and love it. Cheap living, decent job market, low crime, plenty of outdoorsy things to do, pretty low population especially in the panhandle. However, if we want to shop anywhere other than Walmart we have to drive at least 2 hours, same with decent healthcare facilities, museums, zoos, anything like that. Not much of a “night life” or anything like that. Plus our weather is ridiculous and ranges from like 115° in the summer to -60° in the winter with the windchill. It definitely isn’t for everyone but it is a great place to raise kids and works great for us.
