How long after you started your period did you start using tampons?

i’m scared of using tampons but it’s summer time and i want to have fun in the water and my friends all use tampons but i don’t think i’m ready

Don’t do something you’re not comfortable/ready for. But I will say that using tampons isn’t as bad/scary as it seems. For me, it’s way more comfortable and convenient. You usually can’t even tell it’s there once you get used to it and if it’s inserted correctly. I started my period when I was 12 and didn’t use a tampon for 2 years.

I couldn't use tampons until I was sexually active, I started my periods when I was 11 and I couldn't use tampons till I was 16/17.

Honestly, I got my period for the 1st time when I was 12. I'm now 23 almost 24 and have never used a tampon. I've always said I would if I wanted to go swimming or for some other reason but I just haven't tried it yet because I got so used to just using pads lol. Don't feel pressured to do it just because your friends do. It's your body, your choice.

I got my first period at 16 (late bloomer ik 😂) but I dont think I was ever fully comfortable with the idea of having a tampon in until I went to college 2 years after my first period. At first I would use a tampon and pad because I didn't fully trust the product and I didn't think that it could absorb my menstruation. I slowly weaned myself off the pad when I realized I was just wasting them and money on both products. I have not used a pad since, except after giving birth, and still dont to this day. Small steps at a time. It feels weird the first time but you just have to make sure you insert it properly and you wont even notice it.
