Will progesterone pills prevent miscarriage tissue?

Hey 
I just found out that i miscarried. But honeslty i havnt had any heavy bleeding beside light bleeding. There was nothing on ultrasound at 10 weeks. My hcg are 154. I had been taking progesterone since may 4. My obgyn told me to stop taking them. Has the progesterone pill stop the miscarriage tissue to leave my body? I wont be taking them from today. Has anyone gone through this before? Any advice?

Yes, the progesterone supplements often prevent the body from shedding uterine lining and once stopping, it can take a few days for bleeding to start. But it will happen once you stop the suppositories
