Pregnancy

Hi. 36 f from NY here. Pretty new to glow. My partner & I have decided to give getting pregnant a try. So I have been diagnosed with pcos, but have recently seen a new endocrinologist who said he thinks I have a mild case. Although I have never tried to get pregnant, I thought I may never. Now I really want to & I'm older. So I went by the app ovulation date & now I'm 3 days away from period. Decided to just take a pregnancy test for the fun of it & it shows positive. Is it possible the $ store tests are false positive? Especially 3 days before period?
