Rules for a Jr?

My SO wants my son to be a third and named after him. I have always wanted to pay homage to my late father if I ever had a boy. Would my son still be considered a jr if I gave him my dads name as a middle name? Or if he has two middle names would that still count?

No. Junior only describes the name a child shares with its father. And it’s same exact name first, middle and last. If your husband is a Jr and you name your son the same exact name he’ll be a 3rd. If you give your son your husbands first name but your fathers middle name he will not be a junior.

We only pass on one of the names. Like my grandpa is John Nathan, my dad is Nathan, but brother is Nathan Michael, and his son is Wyatt Nathan. Their not jrs but it continues!

No he wouldn’t. A Jr has the exact same name.. but who cares! Go for it girl! ❤️ my husband also wants our son to be a “Jr” #4 😩 but they all have a different middle name
