Would you tell your kid the truth regarding... TW TW TW- read post

As I catch up on some Grey’s Anatomy, I came across this episode regarding a pretty hefty subject. One of the characters (Jo for those who watch) spent her life in the foster system without ever knowing her birth mother. She found her birth mother and went to visit/confront her. Upon doing so, she (Jo) repeatedly asked her mother why she (mother) never even tried to look for her (Jo). Her mother then reveals that she was the product of a rape, and that she looked just like the father and it was something she just couldn’t live with, so she gave her up to foster.

This news subsequently destroyed Jo and threw her into a deep depression. So my question is:

Whether or not you chose to raise the baby, would you tell your child at any point in their life that he/she was the product of a rape?
