Does being pregnant make you a mother?

Thoughts? I’ve read a few articles and some say no because there are people who haven’t been physically pregnant who are moms but I think once you’re pregnant your a mom.

I would say yes because women who have lost babies are still mothers however it's not the only way you can become a mother.

I feel that a woman who out of the kindness of her heart decides to raise;bring up a child with care and affections is just as much of a mother as one gives birth to. Just because you didn’t give birth to the child doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t be a mother. The number one saying is “there’s no love like a mothers love” it’s all about love and sacrifice 💗

How can you be a mother if it’s not a human life yet according to most people? Based off of that logic, in order to be consistent, you’d have to say no. 
But I say yes because I believe in life at the moment of conception. 😉🥰

I tried for years to become a mom, and became an adoptive mom after two years of Ttc, a miscarriage, two IUIs and over a year of paperwork. I didn’t consider myself a mom until I adopted my daughter. Now  I’m 24 weeks pregnant and I still only consider myself to have one kid— to me, parenting is super different than being pregnant. I know how exactly shitty it is to want to be a mom and not get to be one right away, and I don’t think someone calling me or considering me a mom after my miscarriage would have made me feel any better. But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do to get through it. 
Now, don’t get me started on people not considering me a mom because I’ve adopted instead of giving birth to my daughter... 🙄

Absolutely. This is my fifth pregnancy and first baby. I’ve considered myself a mom and my husband a dad since the first time I saw two pink lines!
