Contractions just started and already 5 mins apart.. possible?

I’m having the feeling over period cramps (fairly intense but can talk through them). Started timing right away and within 29 mins the app says go to the hospital - is that possible? 
39 weeks exactly and have been active all day, including sex

It’s labor! Contractions are 2 mins apart but only 2 cm dilated to waiting it out at home. Can’t wait to meet our baby!

I went in last week for contractions that were 5 minutes apart for two hours but they were very mild and some were painless. I was only dilated to a 1 so they sent me home and said they will be much more painful when it’s labor. The contractions went away the next morning and here I am a week later still pregnant.

Yes possible - my labour with my son was only 3 hours and my contractions were two minutes apart in less than an hour and a half.
