Vegan Pregnancy?

Question

Anyone else in this group vegan? I was vegetarian when I got pregnant for my son 4 and a half years ago. I gave it up so I knew he was getting what he needed. Since then I've become more educated on nutrients and the ability to get them while being vegan. I'm just curious if anyone else in this group is also vegan 😁 My first vegan pregnancy and I'm excited to take this journey!

Hi! I’ve been vegetarian for 12 years and recently went vegan (4 months ago). However, to our surprise, we got pregnant(8weeks now)! I was just cravinggggg cream cheese this week and ate some. I’m just going to see how it goes. I may go back to being vegan after this first trimester. It’s been a struggle for me to eat anything/want anything to eat. Morning sickness has been real 😞

I’ve been vegetarian for 16 years and remained so my entire last pregnancy. Baby is super healthy 3.5 year old now. Also vegetarian. Never craved meat. If you don’t want to eat something, you might not crave it! I personally don’t understand how Phoebe from a Friends could eat all that meat since it all grosses me out now. But it was probably written by omnivores! Good luck!!!

I was vegan, up until like 38 weeks pregnant lol. I regretted is so bad but I was vegan for 3 years. I'm starting to head back that way again. And I'm also pregnant again. Currently cant stand eggs which I'm happy about. I still haven't touched cows milk (drinking wise) in 3 and a half years, I've only ate chicken since but I'm going off that again. I'm not concerned at all. I was at my healthiest when I was vegan and my pregnancy was so bloody healthy and my son is extremely healthy and strong.

I’d say eat all the healthy stuff and if your body is craving some non vegan foods give it what it wants!!  Eating healthy doesn’t have to have a label on it.

Vegetarian here! Hubs keeps saying that I'm gonna go all Phoebe from Friends during my pregnancy but I doubt that'll happen! Lol This is our first pregnancy, but my doctor knows & didn't tell me too change my diet so definitely gonna keep staying strong.

Vegetarian for 10 years this year! Limited dairy because I just don't love it and feel better when I eat less of it. I was vegetarian all through my first pregnancy and my daughter is now 3.5 years old and has always been raised as a vegetarian as well. She loves her beans and veggies. 😊 
Basically I just try to eat ridiculous amounts of vegetables and generally feel pretty awesome (but still eat my fair share of chocolate and veggie burgers and pizza of course). When I delivered my daughter, the hospital told me that my iron levels were fantastic and better than most meat eaters. That pregnancy was pretty comfortable and easy, and i'm hoping for the same this time around!
