Normal or period ?

So I’m on the depo shot and I’ve been on it ever since April 5 of this year and so yesterday I was having sex with my boyfriend and half way through he pulls out and notices that I was bleeding and I was confused because since I’ve been on the shot I haven’t had my period so I went to go clean up and examine myself and I was thinking maybe there was a tear or something because it kind of stung when I peed but then again that was way too much blood for a tear and I don’t have blood on my underwear or anything, I didn’t even know I had blood in there until after he noticed so is it normal or is it my period? I haven’t bled since my first shot & I’m getting my 2nd shot on July 5.
