Delayed Bath Benefits

Amanda • Baby girl due 7/3/19

Finishing up my birth plan as a STM (1 page 🙌🏻) and saw this article that was helpful. One of my top goals this time is establishing breastfeeding early since my first didn’t latch in the first few hours and we didn’t BF as long as I had anticipated/desired.

“With a delayed bath, nurses wipe blood off, but then immediately give the baby to mom to be held skin-to-skin, a practice which has many known benefits, including bonding, temperature regulation and easing breastfeeding.”
