C-section Recovery without Support?

Question

I have an amazing husband and with my last c-section he took 6 weeks off of work but it was mostly because our son was in the nicu. Does anyone have experience of recovering from a c-section with very little help? Bonus points for recovering from a c-section air older kids and little help.

Ive had 4 so at one point i had newborn, 3 yr, 5, 8 yr old and my hubby could only take off time when we in hospital, ive recovered form each of my c sections alone every time. For me personally it wasnt that bad, just do things at a lil slower pace and ask the sibling to help grab stuff close to ground so dont have to bend over so much.

I had little help recovering from my c-section and I have 2 toddlers. My baby is in the NICU so I’m not caring for him at home but I’m pumping every 2-3 hours. My husband took 2 weeks off when our son was born. I made my girls climb onto their dressers to get dressed/diaper changes. Sometimes I changed diapers on the floor. My 3 year old can climb into her car seat so I didn’t have to lift her. My 5 year old has special needs and I had to lift her into the car as she can’t get in herself. I was back to basic cleaning and home responsibilities pretty quickly. My husband would carry laundry for me and we would go grocery shopping together for a few weeks so I didn’t have to lift bags. We are also moving so I was packing boxes and he would go room to room and move what boxes I had packed. I definitely was doing too much with this recovery. I was driving within 5 days PP so I could go visit the NICU. I did have family that came to help when my husband was at work/NICU during my 3rd week PP and I was feeling pretty good by that point.

My husband freelances so he literally went back to work the day after my son was born. He’s a sound engineer so he works very long hours. I was a mess. But, he did get me some help and a friend started a meal train so that was a tremendous help

Im 17 with a 2 month old now had her c section n ky bf went back to work the next day 😩 but now i got used to it i still get tired though i miss my sleep :(
