Is having the same middle name as your sibling weird?

I saw a previous post asking if kids having the same middle name is weird. I was surprised by some answers because in my culture we don’t call the kids by middle names, it is used to honor/remember family members or even the parents. Sometimes even a saint (although that can differ).. many kids in my family share the same middle name to honor and well respected and beloved family member:
It’s very common for all the kids in one family to have grandparents or parents name as middle name. Sometimes the godparents name which could be the same  (which also many people don’t understand this is not the person who gets your child if you die. That is a legal guardian which may not be the same) 
I’ve even seen some posts about people being upset that a cousin or friend has the same middle name and struggle with that. 
Question:
Is having the same middle name as your sibling weird to you, personally?

Yes what I have seen is maiden names being used as middle names and I think that’s all pretty cool. I don’t think it’s very uncommon either. 
We are doing it so all our children will get Thorn as a middle name. 
It’s just when you use the same first name (as a middle name) for all the siblings that I think maybe it’s a bit weird.

My friend has three brothers, all four of them with the middle name Douglas. I thought it was a bit weird at first, but he explained to me that every male in their family had that middle name since the 1920’s, and thought that was kinda cool.

Not at all.  My best friend growing up has the same middle name as all of her siblings

I’m Catholic, so literally everyone’s middle name is Anne, Marie, Elizabeth, or Theresa anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️. Usually one of the first two. The boys get a little more variety. But no I don’t think it’s weird since we rarely use middle names for anything anyway.

I have met families who do this. One that stands out was the kids all having the mom’s maiden name as their middle name. I think that was thoughtful and a tribute to her side of the family. I wouldn’t do it personally, but I don’t think it’s super weird or anything. I also know that most people hardly pay attention to someone’s middle name long term, so it’s not the biggest deal in the world regardless.

In my husband's culture, the fathers name is the middle name, whether it's a girl or boy. So, our girls will have two first names and his name as their middle, and boys will have one first name and his name as their middle, that's our compromise.

It's weird for me only because growing up, whenever we were in trouble, our parents would call my sister and I my our middle names. That's how we knew shit was about to get real 😆. It would have been awkward and confusing for us both to have the same.  
I, myself, would never give my children the same middle names as I want then to have their own identity and name. But that's just a personal preference.

Psrsonally, I hate when kids are named after somebody they're like the third of a certain name... middle names wouldn't be so bad but I like my kid having a unique name of Their Own

I just dont like the whole idea of siblings sharing 2/3rds of their name. Two of my sisters have the same middle name but they have different last names so its eh.
