Where does the sperm go?

Question

So prior to this app I honestly believed a woman could get pregnant anytime of her cycle 🤦🏽‍♀️ (way to go sex Ed class). But now that I know more about how everything works I just have one question, where does the sperm go.
So ovulation is when the egg is available to be fertilized and the cervix opens to invite in sperm in and the sperm swims through the vagina, cervix and Fallopian tubes. But if you have sex say two to three days before ovulation occurs where does the sperm go to wait on the egg if the cervix is closed?

You can only get pregnant once you ovulate and for the 10 hours or so after that before the egg does. Ovulation itself takes only around 15 minutes.
So where is the fertile window coming from then, you may ask.
When he ejaculates inside you, his semen is like jelly. The heat and acidic environment starts to break this down and turn it into a liquid. This allows healthy sperm to escape and fight their way up your cervix. 
When they enter your uterus, they swim on to your active ovary side for that cycle. That is part of the magic we do not yet know how, but the sperm knows which side. They swim up your Fallopian tube where they wait for the egg. 
The surviving sperm can wait for up to 5 or 6 days there, but most just die after about 3 days. So this is the file week. 5 days before you ovulate, ovulation day and the day after, because you may have sperm inside you that can fertilize your egg as soon as it appears.
Timing is everything. You are most likely to get pregnant from sperm that was ejaculated inside you in the 24 hours before ovulation.
Dead sperm and a dead egg are just absorbed inside you.
At the top of your vagina after sex it is however a different story. The process stops after about 30 minutes. The loser and dead sperm mixes with your fluids and the milky liquidised semen that were left behind and starts to leak out, causing that cold wet spot on the sheets. This leakage can list up to 24 hours. This fluid is called backflow. Sometimes it can smell like bleach. 
You can get rid of the backflow quicker by doing Kel's on the toilet when you pee after sex.
Often times the fertilized egg will not develop into about baby because of genetic errors when the sperm and your egg combines or splits, out it will fall to imbed in your uterus or your uterus will just about it due to problems. More than halve of all fertilized eggs suffer this date.

They get trapped in the cervix and slowly get released out in a steady stream. Then they go to the Fallopian tube and wait for the egg. The cervix is open for business up to a week before ovulation occurs. But it’s never completely shut

There’s the fact that sperm get where they need to be quickly. If the cervix is closed, it’s likely the sperm dies off quickly and leaks out with the semen. I could be wrong- definitely not a professional. All I know is that if there’s no egg to be fertilized, the sperm dies somewhat quickly
