NIPT failed twice- confused..

Hello community, as a father in spe i am enjoying this exciting period as much as my wife (perhaps even more). She is 13.5 weeks now.

However, we received some disturbing news yesterday. The doctor called my wife and told her that the NIPT failed - again, leaving us with no further options for non invasive screening. We are in doubt what to do next. We read that this happens to less than 1% of pregnant women. Worse, there is a study circling around (Norton et al) claiming that this group has a 10 times higher chance on chromosome deficits (5% reported, while this is 0.5% on average).

We have a doctor appointment next Friday, but given the progress of the pregnancy we try to get there before the 14 weeks mark.
