ECV pros and Cons?

I’m currently 36 weeks and I have a ultrasound on Friday to see if baby girl has turned. If not they want to do a ECV on Monday. This is my 5th baby and the first time I’ve ever had to go through anything like this. Does anyone have advice? I’m doing ice pack and different positions. I’m going to see a chiropractor Monday. I’m hoping she turns so I don’t have to have a c section. I’ve had all vaginal births.

I was breech as well and doing everything I could to flip her a lot of inversion stuff but nothing worked because my water broke last Monday and when I went in she was still breech and I had to have a c section. I was so nervous that would happen and I’m still recovering from the c section and it’s been a bit rough but baby is at least healthy for being early. I hope you get that baby to flip

I did ice packs and played music down low. My girl had finally turned before my 36w appointment a few days ago. I looked up ECV online and honestly was very hesitant about having it done. Although rare, there are some very serious side effects that are possible with it.

Also considering ECV. I’d have the consultation next week with the OB who would perform it but from my research I really don’t think I’ll go through with it 😬 seems painful and tooo risky. My MW thinks I’d be a candidate for it but with low-normal fluid and SUA/SGA baby, I don’t see how I could be a candidate for it and I don’t want to take any risks at all

The success rate for ECV is about 55%. There is a small risk of fetal distress and needing an emergency c-section. My baby was breech until 32 weeks and I was pretty sure
I would do the ECV if baby didn’t turn. I’ve had 2 vaginal births and would rather not cut my abdominal muscles if possible.

There is a small chance that it works. They do it near a set up c section area because it can cause the baby distress and make you have an emergency c section. I’m not really one for it. If you have to have a c section trust me you would rather have one that is planned and not rushed because your body heals much differently.
