Great DIY idea for crib!!
Hello mamas, I recently had my first prenatal appointment and even though I’m only 8 weeks, doc said to limit my lifting of things to 25lbs. She asked how old my daughter is and how much she weighs (she’s 2.5yrs and 32lbs), and said if she wants to be held then I need to sit down and let her crawl into my lap. I’ll be honest, I’m still holding her occasionally, but I know as my belly grows I will indeed need to stop. However, she is still in a crib and not ready to switch to the toddler rail (we have a convertible crib) because she’s afraid she will get hurt. So I started thinking 💭 they should make cribs with a swing out door! And upon googling this, I found that some people have done this (mostly for disabled parents) and I just think it’s genius! I plan to do the same with my daughters, just need a saw, some hinges, and latches. This way I won’t have to lift her in and out of bed and she can continue to feel secure in her crib as long as she needs until she’s ready for a toddler or twin bed. Just wanted to share this idea for anyone else! Picture example from google images.
