Birthing with gas vs epidural?

I’ve only ever had epidural deliveries. I’m wondering if someone from experience can explain to me what it was like to use just gas and how it made you feel? How did it help with the pain if at all? Is there limitations on how much you can have? Just curious 😇

I started with the nitrous and it was okay. You Still feel all the pain, it just makes you not care as much!! Lol. I ended up getting an epidural after cuz it was too much for me cuz I was in hard labor for 36 hours 🤦🏼‍♀️
It’s nothing compared to the epidural for sure!! No pain relief - so if your looking for something to compliment a more natural birth it’s good but I wouldn’t do it again 😬🤫🙄

I tried gas while I was waiting for my epi, it made me feel dizzy and nauseous.

I had gas first for an hour, I was induced you just feel funny and disoriented. I was just yelling at my husband and acted like being drunk. I couldn't take the pain anymore and had an epidural took 20 minutes to work completely and it was wonderful. Baby was born in 4 hours and I will have an epidural again if I can't bare the pain 👍
