How much money do you give for presentation at weddings?

If you and your partner are guests at a wedding, which includes a meal and an open bar, how much money to you give? Does it differ if you are closer to the couple? I’m just curious.... my husband and I can never agree! (Prices per couple). 
For my wedding, I didn’t expect anyone to give money! Some couples didn’t give any, some gave 30 dollars and some gave 500 dollars.

Proper wedding etiquette would suggest gifting what you believe the cost of the dinner would be for yourself & your guest(s). So for two people I would typically gift between $50 - $100. 
With that said, I think it’s important to not gift beyond your means. A meaningful card should be just enough. If the recipient isn’t grateful, I think that shows a lot about them as a person.

If I’m giving a cash gift or gift card it will be at least £100. 
If I bring a wrapped gift, I will bring enough to cover drinks and a little extra for ‘just in case’. 
It doesn’t matter how close I am to the couple I never attend an event empty handed unless specifically requested in the invite.

Do you mean for a present? None of my friends have gotten married, but I gave each of my cousins $50 gift cards to stores on their registry. They both have WAY more money than me, so everything on their registry was way out of my price range. So I gave gift cards instead

Honestly my mind is a little blown by some of these comments. $300? That's my car payment, electric bill in the summer, a plane ticket somewhere..just seems like a lot to give to someone else. I usually gift in the $50 range

Normally we do $200 for people close to us and $100 for others. We are going to my cousins wedding in two weeks and only giving $20. When we got married they gave $20 to us from 17 people and they are loaded. We are comfortable but I'm not going to give $200 this time

Depends on who they are to us.  My brother getting married this weekend and we are giving him $300.  My friend got married last year and we give a $100.

3/4 weddings I have been to I have been asked to play a solo piece at the church ceremony, plus with the organ on psalms/songs. Haven't they been my friends I would typically have charged $600 and upwards depending on how much they wanted me to play. 
I always knit matching traditional mittens too for the bride and groom

Point is, I don't like to put a price on gifts. Sometimes there is a much higher value on things/gifts than the price you paid at the store.

Close friends get stacks of .999 fine silver. Everyone else gets something cool from Etsy that’s monogrammed or something from their registry.

Random friends, $200 per guest. Family $500 per guest. Typically we will do $400-$500 for friends. Then $1000 for close friends and family
