NB Sleeping 5-6 Hours , Should I wake her?

Hi All , my lil one is almost 4 weeks and sleeping about 5 -6 hours a night. I breastfeed her about 8 to 9 times a day then top her off with a bottle of HIPP formula before she heads to sleep around 11PM. Is this ok ? Should I let her sleep ? Currently over 9LBS was born at 8LBS

Yes that is fine. My baby is three weeks and ive never woken her up to eat. I feed when she wants it and she is completely fine

My 5 week old wakes up one time a night. Sometimes two on a bad night. I'm not waking him up for shit.

My son is 4 weeks and has been sleeping for anywhere from 6-9 hours at a time at night since he was 1.5 weeks old. I’ve never woken him, just pumped instead and went back to sleep lol

It depends. Until they have regained they’re birth weight it’s essential that you weigh them as they need to feed frequently. A newborn that hasn’t at least regained their birth weight should be woken for a feed every 4 hours or less or more often if they had a lot birth weight. Check with your midwife :) x

My babe is 1 week old (almost 2 weeks) and I’ve never woken her up to eat. She will sleep 3-5 hours each time. They will wake up when they are hungry.

The lactation consultant I worked with told me to let my baby sleep but for the first 6 weeks until my milk stabilizes I should pump if he sleeps longer than 2 hours. She said that it will help keep my milk supply in the long run. I haven’t had that issue yet because my son wakes up every 2 hours anyway, so I’m very jealous you get such long stretches!

Yeeees do not make the mistake I did! My nurses and doc told me to feed my newborn every 2 hours day and night and to wake him if he wasn’t waking on his own. THEN HE WOKE UP EVERY 2 HOURS FOR WEEKS ALL DAY AND NIGHT. He was sleeping longer before I did that. Ugh. Now he’s up to every 3 hours. Like clockwork.
