My daughter dislikes my boyfriend 😫

Okay, so I’ve been dating my boyfriend, we’ll call him G, for 6 months now. I’ve known him for almost 2 years, and he met Ryleigh when she was about 4-5 months old but only saw her every once an a while when I’d bring her to work. We started dating and he’s been consistently in her day to day life changing diapers, feeding her, taking care of her since right around her 1st birthday. She’s 17 months old now, and till this day and it takes quite a bit for her to warm up to him.

Some days she runs right to him and plays with him and laughs, etc. Other days its screaming, not wanting to go near him, crying, the whole nine yards. We don’t show a lot of PDA, maybe some kisses and a cuddle session but it’s usually brief.

Side-note: My daughters biological father is not in the picture, he left when I was 8 weeks pregnant. Never met her.

Has anyone else experienced this? It’s going to take way more time than 6 months, but being around her every day, I feel like would ease up some anxiety around him. Do you think she sees him as a threat because he takes my attention away from her? (Hardly, in reality 😂🤦🏻‍♀️) It just gets a bit frustrating when he tries to care for her and she gets so hostile 😫 Please give me some tips or tell me I’m not alone!! 😭
