Premie with oxygen??

Question

Short back story. Baby girl 23 weeks preemie beat all odds and now 37 weeks old. 
We are discussing discharge and they said she will most likely be going home with some oxygen. 
How is it for the parents and baby when they are on oxygen? Just was hoping someone could explain a little of like day to day life??

My son is on oxygen. He’s on an 8th of a liter which is literally the lowest amount of oxygen. It’s actually better than I thought it would be. My son was born at 29w 6d but his lungs were not fully developed. He has bronchopulmonary dysphasia so that’s what contributed to him having a hard time breathing on his on. We go through Children’s Mercy home care for his oxygen tanks and supplies. They’ll teach you how to work it and give you a machine for at home only. Then whenever they feel your child is ready, they’ll starting to take the steps to get them off. I’m in the process of doing so now. He’s been on oxygen for almost 2 months
