😡😡😡Epic birth story 😡😡😡

Sonya

I actually dont know where to start but im gonna begin from 1am when i woke up in the night on Saturday 😨😨

I woke up at 1am to use the toilet,I wiped myself and was bending down to pull ny pants up when i noticed a trickle of water down my legs πŸ’¦πŸ˜° I wiped myself and didnt think much of it as i was so sleep deprived and wanted to sleep...I went back to bed and literally the minute ny head touched the pillow i started feeling dull pains which began at the top of my bump and radiated down all the way to my pubic bone... These pains kept coming after every 12 minutes , i managed to get some sleep till about 6ish thats when they started coming at intervals of every 5 minutes..lol tbh thats when i realised might be in labour ,so i call my hospital up and they say that i am in early labour and they will only admit me when they are 3 minutes apart lasting 45 seconds...🀯🀯

Anyways my husband suggested i stay at my mums as they are closer to the hospital and if i progressed while he was at work they could easily take me to he admitted... So i was labouring at my mums house and about 3pm my pains are getting more and more intense but they are still not 3 minutes apart at around 5pm i just couldn't take any more pain and I got my mum to drive me to the hospital so i could be checked over at triage...😲

We got to the triage and had to wait an hour before we got seen when we finally did get seen the midwife informed me i was only dilated 1cm πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ and they performed a sweep and said it should help get labour moving along...the sweep wasnt painful getting sent home was more painful 😭😭

Anyways fast forward to 9pm and my pains are really bad , im crying at each contraction , i was on the phone to midwives between each contraction and they kept telling me i still wasnt enough to be admitted and to take a warm bubble bath and walk ( i was thinking to myself i can barely talk let alone do stuff like that) πŸ˜…πŸ˜† Anyways it was getting really tough and at around 11pm my mum was getting upset seeing me in so much pain so she drove me to the hospital, once we got there i was seen immediately.... the midwife did an internal and she told me i was ONLY THREE CM and was still in early labour i cried like a baby when she suggested that they were going to send me home and then at the end of her sentence she said "we can give you something which will help you relax a bit and dilate you faster"Β  but youll have to get admitted for that and i agreed then and there to the pethidine injection..

1am Sunday Morning: After getting the injection i was told to lie down and try and sleep , so they dimmed the lights and left me and my mum to sleep...i slept for about an hour when i woke up to the most painful urge to push,i waddled to the toilet to pee but nothing was coming out it was just burning like crazy down there 🀐🀐  i waddled back to my bed struggling through the contractions and now the new feeling of getting urges to push, they keep coming stronger and more intense and im crying out for an epidural as I actually couldn't take the pain ( i was at 5cm at this point) the midwife looking after me kept saying to wait a little longer for an epidural.. 😭

In all honesty it was so painful from that point on i can just remember dazing in and out of consciousness crying for an epidural and it seemed like no one was listening to my requests , during all that at some point my waters break and i feel a gush of warm wetness under me in all that madness i hear the midwife saying theres meconium in my waters and before i know it im getting trollied into another delivery room...this room is really well lit with lots of lights and more medically equipped...my mum said it was around 6am when they took me to that room and when they did my internal i was fully dilated and was told to push at each urge..

7am im still pushing at each urges and crying for an epidural still , i actually didnt know i was so close to delivering my baby , i was given gas and air but because i was so out of my mind i couldn't understand and get to grasp of how to use it efficiently it was just drying my mouth out which was adding to my frustration 😲😲  anyways im pushing at each urge and then all of a sudden the midwives press the emergency buzzer and within seconds a whole team of midwives and doctors come in to the room 😡😡 babys shoulders were stuck and her heart rate was dropping..

The doctor took over from the midwife at that point , she had to perform an episiotomy to help baby out..at that point i was physically and mentally exhausted i was crying out that i couldn't do it and the midwives kept reassuring me i was one push away from baby being born...the doctor said "when you feel the urge to push again now your baby will be born" I PUSHED FOR ALL MY LIFE AND babys little shoulders slipped put along with the rest of her body...🀭

I was waiting for them to plop the baby on to me to see but they immediately put her into the little delivery cot and they were examining , i noticed everyone had a really worried look in their faces and my mum was on the verge of crying πŸ’”πŸ’”

I got really emotional all my pains had stopped and i had delivered my baby i was suddenly wide awake feeling really alert but absolutely brokenhearted as their was no baby crying...a minute or so passes and the whole team are huddled around baby frantically babbling when i hear her little cry πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’žπŸ’ž i was so happy and thanked the almighty God (Allah swt) soo much that i heard her cry i was reassured that baby was perfectly fine she was just a bit shocked , after her apgars were tested again they handed baby over to me for skin to skin time β™₯️β™₯️

My baby was born at 7.54 early on Sunday morning (gest 41+5)... The funny thing is if baby hadn't had come by herself by Sunday i was told to had come in that morning at 8am to be induced (which i was dreading 😡😡)

Lol thanks for reading my birth story, I gave birth at Birmingham Womens Hospital in the UK, if anyone from that hospital is reading i would like you to know my birth experience was the best im so thankful i didnt have an epidural my recovery was very easy, for a first time birth i dont mind doing it again..

For anyone else reading whether your about to give birth remember that YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY DO IT , im proud i gave birth without an epidural considering im the worlds BIGGEST wimp i did it and i felt so brave and content after πŸ™‚

I pray you all have easy pregnancies and labours , I pray that God blesses those patient ladies who cant get pregnant with a baby soon...and I pray for good health for all the mothers and little babies that are born. Ameen 😘β™₯️
