Why are they thinking ectopic?

Question

I have HCG levels that are doubling every 31 hours (1.4 days). At 4w5d it was 2632. Everything is above average. 
I have no cramping and no bleeding. Why would they request an ultrasound to check for a possible ectopic?

Because that’s really high for 4 weeks. Don’t stress though.. you could be further along than you think.. OR you could be pregnant with twins!!

They specifically told you that that was the reason? I only ask because I went for my mu first ultrasound today cuz I had a miscarriage in feb. She focused on my ovaries a lot and asked me if I was having pain in either ovary. The nurse told me my numbers looked great but I found it interesting that the tech did that. Luckily it is not and I’m right on track

That’s weird, ectopic normally increases much slower. A molar pregnancy causes very high hcg. But that’s not super high 🤔 maybe it’s twins 😍

That number is not that high. They must have a legit reason to be worried. Is there anything else happening? Did your # drop at some point or maybe rose abnormally.

Mine are high and they were a little surprised but never mentioned anything like that, they are just happy. Keep us updated!
