What does a cervix check feel like?

Or having your membranes swept? I’ve never had either. My baby came on her own last time. My dr said she would check me on Thursday and I wondered if it hurt?

I had a sweep last pregnancy and it was a little uncomfortable as was checking the cervix but not too bad at all considering what you go through when you give birth 😂😂

Cervix checks are okay depending on where your cervix sits. Mine is very far back so it hurts when they check it. The sweep was very uncomfortable, more so than a pap.

My cervix is always borderline unreachable until labor starts, so checks for me are pretty painful. If your cervix is more toward the front (anterior), then it’s probably not too bad. 
I haven’t had a sweep ever, due to my cervix only dilating at the start of labor, but if I’m dilated Wednesday at all, that’s when I’ll have my first sweep.

Cervix checks hurt a little, not gonna lie to you. The sweep hurt me pretty bad... brought a little tear to my eye but it is all temporary!

Had my cervix checked at L&D earlier in the week when I went in for contractions. She had me lay flat, put both fists under my hips, and she slid her finger way in. Lots of pressure but it's not painful. Worst part was laying flat since it makes it hard to breathe.

I've had 2 sweeps it's just a bit uncomfortable but not painful didn't work on my second but worked on my 3rd my waters broke. X

I didn’t think cervical checks were that bad. I had my membranes swept last pregnancy twice . First time was uncomfortable reminded me of a Pap smear when they are putting the speculum in but the discomfort lasted longer. I then had cramping all weekend and discharge . The second time they swept my membranes it wasn’t bad at all and I went into labor

It’s not painful for me, but this is also my 4th plus I’m always dilated a decent amount before my midwife starts checking.

It was definitely uncomfortable. I wouldn’t say it HURTS though.
