In the 🇬🇧 this is what most newborn babies sleep in. The padding does look a little think on this one. Normally it’s just a cotton sheet covering to protect baby from the wicker.  Just a side note if it has handles there for moving the basket only and not strong enough to carry baby in.

So I have 2 bassinets very similar to that although I have a stand that rocks sideways rather than back and forth and I haven't got a bad word to say about it my little one loves it, but I have heard that some babies outgrow it quickly, I still have my 3 month old in it but he's a small baby

Yes until they can roll over and sit up but for newborn I think is nice
