I started having contractions at 8pm and at 3am they were 5 min

I started having contractions at 8pm and at 3am they were 5 min. apart. We live a block away from the hospital so I wanted to wait it out at home as long as possible because I didn't want to be sent home. I waited another hour till they were 5 and 4 min. apart and we drove to hospital at 4am. When we got there I was already 8 cm dialated and they had to kick another mom out of a delivery room because I was farther along. Decided to go with the flow on the pain meds and tried sticking it out but after about 6 and a half hours of contractions that were back to back towards the end, I said I needed something. They thought I was getting really close to the end so they gave me a shot in the back to temporarily numb the contractions for 1 hr. It helped just like they said, temporarily, and then again I could feel everything at the end because it wore off before I had her. Delivered at 11:50am. Luckily didn't tear anything. Despite the pain and everything it was the Best day of my life, she is my everything! Scarlet Rae is her name.
