I think my baby is getting a cold sore and I am loosing my mind!! Should I call the doctor? Should I put something on it?

My daughter was about 18 months when she got her first cold sore and it was extreme. First breakouts usually are more than just one lesion. Hers were inside her whole mouth and her gums were so swollen you couldn't see any of her teeth. She's had one since and it was just the normal lesion on the side of her lip. If it's just the one spot it's not likely a cold sore, but even if it is, by 6 months it's not really dangerous to baby anyways.

Very unlikely it’s a cold sore. I can’t see anything and first break outs of cold sores are normally pretty extreme.

I see a little something but not sure if I’d call it a cold sore. You’re the mom though so go with your gut. Call the doc and let them know what you think and have them tell you what to do. If it is a cold sore, those can be very dangerous for babies. So give the ped a call for your own peace of mind
