Long birth story finally! (Very fast 😂)

I’m excited to finally get around to posting my birth story! My boy is now 3 months old and doing amazing. I was due March 20th. I had an amazing pregnancy with no pains, no morning sickness etc and I loved every minute of it and miss it everyday! My doctor told me that if I wasn’t in labor by the time I was 40 weeks that she would want to induce by 41 weeks since they don’t let their patients go passed 41 weeks. I was desperate to make myself go into labor because I was terrified of being induced! Once I hit 40 weeks they did two stress tests and one last ultrasound to make sure everything was looking good. At the time of my last ultrasound which was 5 days before I gave birth I wasn’t effaced at all and I was only dilated not even a full centimeter. the Sunday before my last appointment (3 days before I hit 41 weeks) I woke up to lots of bloody show and some uncomfortableness that I could barely feel. My husband and I went walking around and ran some errands. At midnight Sunday night I woke up to cramping and what I now know was contractions! I couldn’t sleep laying down because it made it more uncomfortable so I got up and sat in my shower for a bit and bounced on my yoga ball until my husband went to work. Contractions were very sporadic throughout my entire labor and delivery process. They never got very consistent weirdly enough. I was able to get an hour or two of sleep because the cramps went away for a bit. I got up and did my house work and waited for my husband to get home so we could go to my last baby doctor appointment! We got there and my doctor checked me for dilation for the first time ever. She was shocked and in a little bit of a panic because I was actually already 6 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced! It was a good thing the hospital was right across the street from her office! She sent us straight to the hospital and they hooked me up to the monitors to make sure everything was still going good. Thankfully they allowed me to eat and drink 🙌🏻 They hooked me up to pitocin since my contractions weren’t consistent even though I was dilating perfectly which I know is what screwed me up! Since they started pumping me with pitocin my body paused and it took me a couple of hours to get to 7 centimeters. The contraction pains weren’t bad at all and I just know I would have been able to do it naturally if they wouldn’t have hooked me up to pitocin, but since the pitocin was making my body stall we decided to opt for an epidural so my body would relax and allow me to start dilating again. Once I got my epidural I took a two hour nap and woke up to the pushing pressure and finding out I was 9 and a half centimeters dilated already! my midwife had me labor and push very gently during each contraction for about 5-10 minutes and then she let me get into whatever position I felt the most comfortable with to push and she let me push whenever I felt like I needed to. It was a very calm environment with me and the nurses joking around between each contraction! In under 20 minutes our little boy came into the world with a perfectly round head. I got away with a 2nd degree perineal year that required some stitches: Everything I wanted to happen from my birth plan happened and I’m so happy it went perfectly! Since the birth went so well and myself and our son were both perfectly fine the hospital allowed us to leave and go home after only being there for 24 hours. Little one latched perfectly the minute he was out and breastfeeding has been going absolutely amazing ever since! All in all my labor and delivery at the hospital lasted about 8 hours. I told my husband that I want to have as many kids as we can lol! Being a mom is the best thing I’ve ever done and I absolutely love every minute of it ♥️ So far I have been blessed enough to have no post part in depression or side affects thankfully. It took us almost two years to get our miracle baby and he’s everything we ever dreamed of!
