In honor of his 1 month!!

Sorry it’s kind of long.

My due date was May 26 but he decided to come May 19 (which was my first due date lol). So May 17 I was 38w 5d having a lot of lower back pain but I could do everything normally still. Since I’m a FTM I didn’t really know if I was in labor or having Braxton Hicks and it was really irregular so I just ignored it. The lower back pain went on through out the night but I was able to sleep through it.

I woke up around 8am (May 18) and my back pain started to get really strong to the point where I would have to sit down throughout contractions. I was still in denial about possibly being in labor so I was still trying to ignore it and go on about my day. I started to bounce on my birthing ball around 11am and I felt a gush in my underwear so I hurried up and went to the bathroom and sat on the toilet and water started gushing out. I started yelling “my water broke” and I heard my husband drop pans in the kitchen and run to the bathroom and he swore I was playing and that the baby wasn’t coming😂. He started pacing around the bathroom and panicking like he was the one who was about to give birth.

4pm I gave in and finally went to the hospital. They checked me and I was 4cm and the doctor could see the bag and my babies hair. I got into a room and was just breathing through my labor because I was trying to give birth with no meds. It started getting too bad so they gave me some type of medicine to help with the pain, I forgot what it was but it made me feel like I was drunk. It only lasted maybe 45 min before the pain came right back and I started getting mad and harassing everyone I saw for a epidural. I was 6cm once I got the epidural. My midwife came in and broke my water. Then they had to put me on oxygen and use the peanut ball and keep flipping me around because my baby started getting stressed. Then they had to take the heart rate monitor off my belly and onto his head because they kept losing his heart rate. The whole time I was in the hospital my whole body was shaking so bad my husband started getting scared but the nurse had to keep reminding him it’s just my hormones. Around 11pm it was time to start pushing. If any FTM are wondering, yes I shitted. I shitted with each push and did not care.

Jayce arrived at 39w exactly on May 19, 2019 at 00:19. I think his lucky number is 19😂. He couldn’t stay with me though because he swallowed amniotic fluid on his way out and couldn’t breathe well. He also had jaundice and it wasn’t going away on its own so he had to go under light therapy. I had 2nd degree tears and a episiotomy because they had to use the vacuum on him.
