When to change to forward facing?

What’s the guidelines for forward facing car seat? I forgot to ask at the 18 month check up and the internet has conflicting info. My daughter is 32 inches and 24 lbs.

I'm going to wait till the age of 4. Both my girls are still rear facing. They are 3 next month and 19 months. My 19 month is still in the infant seat

So my pediatrician recommended 2 years old . And by law I’m allowed to turn her now. Well we had to go on a 3 hour drive and I caved bc I thought it would be better for her and it has HELPED so much. She loves it. So now I don’t want to turn her back around. She’s 24#.

My husband had his daughter in a forward facing car seat at 2 years old when I met him. But nurses have told me that you are to wait until 4 years old but she’s such a large kid it just seemed impossible to put her back to rear facing. My son on the other hand is 21 months old only 21 lbs and is still in his infant car seat. I think I’ll put him forward facing once I feel he’s gotten to big for his infant car seat. But I’m still trying to decide. He wants to face forward so bad I just feel awful leaving him looking at a seat😂

Mine is until 2. But I will keep him in it until 3 or 4. I have read multiple articles and they all said the same thing, in the event of an accident occurring it is better that they break their legs rear facing than to break their necks or spines forward facing.

In most countries it’s against the law until 2, with that being said in Canada (where I live) you’re allowed at 1 but they “recommend” to keep them facing as long as possible, which is what I’ll be doing, my boy is a giant but I’m keeping him reer facing for as long as possible for his safety, until atleast 3

The guidelines are by state. Indiana is until at least 2 years but I plan on leaving my daughter rear facing as long as possible. It’s so much safer!

The laws are based by ur state. In Illinois I believe it’s 2 years old and or 40 lbs. but it also depends on ur car seat limits as well.

I did it when she switched her from her infant seat at 10 months...that's what it was with my first so I assumed it stayed the same,
