Do your babies self settle?

How do you do it? 
I am trying to teach my little boy, he is 14w4d and it takes us an hour of patting, picking him up , sooth, etc, for him to fall asleep in the crib. And he is not really awake when put in the crib. Need some tips, its too exhausting.

My son sucks on his fingers lol. We went through the picking up and soothing then putting them down again once calm phase. It lasted a while but now we put him down after some cuddles and he's drowsy but awake and immediately starts sucking his fingers. It's too cute. Just keep doing what you're doing and your little guy will eventually get it.

For my boy, for his naps during the day we turn on the mobile for him to look at and at night he has a sound machine that projects stars on the ceiling while playing music so he just looks at those and eventually falls asleep. He may fuss for a few minutes but calms down after a bit and goes back to looking at the stars. It's called the skip hop moonlight and melodies owl nightlight soother if you want to try it out👍

no I always nurse him to sleep and let him sleep on me for a bit until I'm sure hes in a deep sleep then I put him down. we also cosleep often too

We are in the same boat - 15 weeks and takes 20 mins to an hour to get him to sleep say next to his crib, shushing, patting, picking up, walking out etc 
I think we just have to be persistent and consistent and hopefully they will get it 🤞🏻

I downloaded taking Cara babies 3-5 month sleep regression tips and it was worth the $35 for sure. He went from sleeping through the night to waking up every hour and now only twice a night. I still help him but it’s a faster process. I sought her out after laying on his floor and crying after a 2.5 hour ordeal one night
