What does a yeast infection look like??

I am 5 weeks postpartum and still healing. Just went to the bathroom and as I was patting dry I noticed on both sides from inside my labia to my vagina I was really red. I also had this yellowish stuff stuck to the top part of my clit. I looked up the symptoms and I don't have any really. I've never had a yeast infection and I was at the doctor literally yesterday morning so I feel like he would've caught it but I'm wondering what all that is.
