Best spacing for children?

What is your ideal or current child spacing?id love yo hear pros/cons for any age gaps 
We have a 16 week old son (our first). We are in our mid 30s and don’t want to wait too long to try for #2 but are trying to decide how lnong yo wait before officially trying.

If u asked me 5 yrs ago, i would have said 2yrs is good spacing. Now that im 35 & pregnant with baby #1, i dont have time on my side so now i say anything that works for the family is good spacing. I have a friend with 3 boys & they are a year apart & i see the benefits. They are super close since they are close in age & can (for the most part) do many of the same activities together. Obviously the biggest difference is between the oldest & youngest but that’s only 2 yrs which isnt bad. They are super cute together. I pray to the fertility gods that i can squeeze in a healthy pregnancy & baby #2 relatively soon after baby #1. 🙏🙏

I have 4 kids and they're all 21-30 months apart. So they're 7, 5, almost 3, and 1. It's a lot of work in the beginning, but worth it in my opinion. My 3 oldest ones play together all day and are very close.

We got pregnant with number 2 when our first was 17 months old. She’ll be 25.5 months old when this one is due. We planned for them to be closer to 3 years apart but I got off birth control because it took us nearly a year to conceive #1. Of course this time it happened on the first try, so we will be having them a bit closer together than we anticipated. However I’m going back to school next summer for my doctorate, so it ends up working out well, because baby #2 will be ~6 months old and I’ll feel more comfy leaving him with a nanny than I would when he’s younger.

I love that my sister and I are almost exactly 3 years apart. I think that spacing is ideal. However, we’re having our first when I’m 34 and he’s almost 36, so I can see us waiting only about 18 months or so to try for a second (if we both still want a second). We did get pregnant on the first try with this one—temping and using OPKs—but I understand the second isn’t always as quick to conceive regardless of age.
