I just feel so done today.

Last night we had a terrible storm. Our electricity went out and our sump pumps stopped working. Immediately our basement flooded. So much was ruined by the water. My SO collects comic books, and they are all ruined, as are his books. These are all very special to him. He was so excited to display them in the library he is building, but it isn’t quite finished yet, so they were being stored downstairs. We have a 12 week old daughter.

I know the situation is frustrating, but the way he treated me was so outrageous. Examples:

-“Make yourself productive and call the fucking electric company.” (As I am breastfeeding our child)

-“Grow up or get the fuck out of here permanently.” (When I asked him to stop being so mean)

-“What is this?! You are so fucking useless, I don’t know why I ask you to do anything.” (After I brought him the colander he asked for. Turns out he wanted a funnel.)

-“You probably need to go figure out who your baby daddy is.” (After I asked what he wanted from Sonic and he insinuated I wasn’t committed to him because I didn’t know what he would want. I mentioned not remembering if it was him or his brother that disliked pickles from Sonic, as I usually get them both food.)

I hope he will apologize. He usually does. He doesn’t always act this way, but when he does it is super hurtful. I know we were experiencing a stressful emergency, but he gets so hyper focused and mean. He drove all the way to a town 45 minutes away to get a generator at midnight. I suggested he call first to make sure they had it, even though it said it was in stock online. He refused. They didn’t end up having it. But of course, I should have called them when he refused to in order to avoid this.

I just needed to vent. I know he will apologize and it will all be over, but my anxiety is so high today. 😞
