I was diagnosed with mastitis last Tuesday and I’ve been taking my antibiotics religiously along with ibuprofen every 6 hours. Additionally, I’ve been pumping on a 2-3 hour schedule like the doctor ordered.

I am exclusively pumping so I don’t breastfeed baby (for personal reasons - mostly I felt like it put me a risk for ppd).

Now - even though I’m pumping every 2-3 hours I feel like my boobs always have hard lumps! No matter how much I massage or apply warm compresses. Am I always going to deal with mastitis? Do any of you have experience with this? My boobs will only feel soft in certain spots after emptying them.
