How do i ask? And which one should i do?

I’m almost 16 and my boyfriend is 17 . We just started dating but have been talking. I wanna spend the night or have him spend the night here sometime this summer but my mom is sorta strict so idk what she would say.. i never asked with my last boyfriend so idk what she would say. I don’t wanna have him stay just to be nasty i just want him to stay idk . How should i ask if we can spend the night or how should i do it ? Should he stay over here or i stay over at his house? Because his mom is cool with it.
