getting anxious about delivery...anyone else?? 12 days left

i had dreamed about this for so long and even though i have not had the easiest pregnancy with gestational diabetes, i can see the light at the end of the tunnel...however, now i am feeling scared, nervous, anxious...all at once

i feel like i had kept my cool until now...people would ask me if i was ready and i always answered with a positive yes...now just thinking about giving birth, my hands start to sweat...

i am hoping for a vaginal delivery and so is my dr...thing is no one in my husbands family (his sisters) or my mom gave birth vaginally, so i feel no one is able to give me good advice as far as what to expect....

i will only have my husband in the room with me when everything happens, but before, i know everyone will be there at the hospital - which brings me to another reason for my anxiety...i know everyone is excited to meet my baby girl, but i am

already feeling overwhelmed with the number of people that i know will be at the hospital waiting and then probably at my house too...so heres the thing...my mom and mother in law both live 4 hrs away from my husband and i, so they are planning on spending some time with us after the birth to help out. i know they mean it in the nicest way possible and i am so thankful that both are able to be here for this experience, but at the same

time i am a very independent person and feel i will feel overwhelmed with both of them helping out...the anxiety is so bad that i cant stop thinking about it rather than focusing on these last few days of pregnancy and being relaxed....

i needed to vent and am wondering if anyone could give me some insight as to what to expect once im in the hospital....i would love a more natural birth, but if i need the meds, i will def ask for them...ive heard horrible stories about the epidural though...what if i dont dilate enough? i havent felt any contractions yet...i am 38 weeks and 2 days...this thursday my dr will do a membrane sweep hopefully to speed up the process...
