Encouragement for patience

Im looking for some encouragement for patience.

I’m 39 weeks today and was checked at 1.5 cm with no real effacement.

I was 1 cm a month ago.

This would all be fine, but I’m also remembering my 42w 1d birth with our first. I had to have my membranes stripped with him and still had to induce medically two days after that. Then it was a full 27.5 hours of pitocin and an epidural I hadn’t planned to have.

He was healthy and my recovery went well, but I am really hoping for spontaneous labor this time and it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen even though I’ve been having daily Braxton-Hicks since the first week in March.

Anyone else have a similar first birth but end up going into labor spontaneously with the second?
