Repeat c section?

I just had my daughter 7 months ago by emergency c section after the birth going extremely wrong. I am now however unexpectedly pregnant again. I am wondering if anyone knows if I will need to have a planned c section? Honestly I would prefer it, the doctor and midwife made bad choices during my delivery of my daughter that almost cost her life. It was all very traumatic. Anyone any advice? X

It should be absolutely your choice and if they resist giving you a c section I would push back. Previous c section is an indication for elective section this time, regardless of how much time has passed. The fact that you’re pregnant so soon is not really relevant to your mode of delivery for this baby. Plenty of people will tell you one way is better than the other... but it’s your pregnancy!

I had an emergency c section with my son who is now 3, I’m pregnant again due 31st December and they have told me it’s my decision, I don’t have to decide until I’m 36 weeks when I’m booked in to see a consultant. If I decide to have one they will book a date then.
They explained that those who had a c section the first time have a 7/10 of having a vbac.

I very much expect the decision will be up to you, and midwife / consultant will support your decision, whether for vbac or repeat c section.
It's not certain you would "need" one, however it may be safer than vbac, especially as it's within two years.
Also, I'm sorry your birth didn't go to plan. I had a planned c section with my first and it was wonderful. I hear its a totally different experience. I hope that puts your mind at rest somewhat

Once you had one c-section you can ask for another.. I had a emergency c-section with my 1st he was 7wks early, they asked if I wanted a VBAC with my second son I said no. They didn’t push it and let me have a planned one. I had my 3rd c-section 7months ago I did ask for a VBAC with my little girl but they said it’s to dangerous after 2 sections again I had a planned section. 😊

Not sure if you would need one but I don’t blame you for wanting one. It is quite likely they will offer it as you’ve had one due to previous complications in your first birth (even if it’s down to the midwives) If you do want it I’d make it very clear from the first appointment that is what you want and ask how soon you can be booked In etc
