FMLA for anxiety

I’m at the point to where I feel I need to ask my doctor for intermittent FMLA for my anxiety/depression. I m currently using all my vacation days for when I call on for my anxiety and depression and by the end of the year I’ll be out and screwed. I know people abuse the intermittent FMLA like crazy but I know I NEED it. My depression is horrible. I have a 5 year old and 8 month old and I’m not sure if it’s stemming off of my birth of my last son (post partum depression?) I currently take Zoloft and it doesn’t do much. My bf is pushing me to see a dr before I lose my job and to hopefully find other meds that work although I’ve been trying different meds the past 5 years and nothing seems to help. Has anyone asked the dr for FMLA? I do qualify for FMLA with my workplace, been there 6 years and has over 300 employees. I don’t know what else to do? Can anyone give me their experience on it? How it works? What you have to do? Is it a headache?
