Is it safe to paint while pregnant?

I'm 27 weeks and was wondering if it's safe to paint the nursery,  we are using interior paint. It doesnt have much of a smell.

I did. My midwife said she would be concerned if I was a painter, like for a profession, and I was painting houses for 8 hours a day the whole pregnancy. But painting one room for a day or so shouldn’t be a problem. I wore a mask and opened all the windows and had a fan going. And my son is perfectly healthy.

I got lucky when we bought our house and one room was a young girls room that was pink and white and one that's smaller was a neutral pale yellow color. However, when I was pregnant, I was painting cars.. and my midwife just told me her only concern with me painting cars was that my belly would rub against the wet paint and cause me annoyance by having to repaint it... Given I was working in a paint booth, with ventilation, and I was wearing painters bibs and a painters respiratory mask.. since car paint is toxic and can kill you without proper handling and care.. I'd say you're probably good to go.. just be sure to not over exert yourself and to open a window or two while painting and while the walls dry.
